Composite Fillings

WHAT ARE COMPOSITE FILLINGS?

If cavities or decay are present on the teeth, they could be treated with fillings of composite material. Fillings are also used to repair broken, cracked, or damaged teeth.

REASONS FOR COMPOSITE FILLINGS:

  • Aesthetic match of color for treated teeth

  • Chemically bonded to the tooth structure

  • Minimal tooth removal

  • Treat cavities, decay, or damage to teeth

PROCESS FOR COMPOSITE FILLINGS:

Anesthetic may be used to numb the area needed to be treated for the tooth to be filled. A dental drill or laser will be used to remove the decayed area of the tooth. After removal, the tooth will be cleaned to rid bacteria and debris. Then the composite filling material will be filled into the tooth needing treatment. The composite filling will then be polished and finished to ensure comfortability with tooth functionality.
